International Mine Action Day 2025 was successfully celebrated in Lower Dir and D.I.Khan districts under the Risk Awareness and Safer Behaviour (RASB) Program by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) KP, with support of ICRC.
In Lower Dir, the event was graced by ADC Mr. Bashir Khan and brought together a diverse group of participants including civil society, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and school students. Meaningful discussions highlighted the urgent need for expanding mine risk education, especially in schools.
In D.I.Khan, participants from the District Administration, Rescue 1122, Social Welfare, BDU, PIPOS, Aghosh Al-Khidmat, RMDF, and students gathered to raise awareness on the risks of unexploded ordnance (UXOs). The event emphasized taking mine risk education to government institutions and IDP communities in the South and North.
As a gesture of compassion and solidarity, gifts were distributed among participants and UXO victims, reaffirming our collective commitment to safer communities.
