The first four minutes after any incident is very important for the casualty. The provision of First Aid during this time not only increases the chances of survival but also may save the injured from permanent disability. PRCS being the pioneer of First Aid in Pakistan believes in imparting First Aid training to the masses including students, volunteers, personnel of law enforcement agencies, response agencies, officials of NGOs, INGOs and general public. The aim of the training is to build the capacity of the participants so that they could protect themselves in case of any emergency and if possible help others as well.
While achieving the agreed objectives of First Aid & Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Program, PRCS KP with the structural support of 01 FAC and 09 DFAs supported by movement partner ICRC, is working efficiently at provincial and district level for the implementation of First Aid activities. These activities include Basic FA Trainings, First Aid Response, First Aid Responders Teams, Stakeholder’s Liaison meetings, simulation exercises & coordination meetings of First Aid Response teams. The districts covered are Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, DIK, Swat, Mansehra, Lower Dir, Upper Dir & Chitral.
Besides trainings PRCS KP also focused on First Aid Response. PRCS KP has established 02 First Aid Posts at District Swat & Upper Dir, the Upper Dir First Aid Post was inaugurated on 15th March by Honourable Chairman PRCS KP with the aim to tackle the RTA’s, Workplace & Home based injuries. First Aid Response teams are also present 09 districts and providing first aid in case of emergencies whenever, wherever needed.

Seven district first aid Officers has conducted 136 basic first aid trainings at their respective districts to different target groups from Jan to May 2022 where total 2,823 beneficiaries have been trained.
Total 146 responses are being done by DFA’s & FAR’s at District level where total 196 casualties received first aid which includes 165 males & 32 female
