Imagine the scorching sun beating down on the dusty streets of Bannu as the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber PAKHTUNKHWA team, with the support of local philanthropists, sets out on their mission to spread joy and happiness among the underprivileged communities in the district.
As they make their way through the streets, they come across people from all walks of life, each with their own story of struggle and hardship. Many of them are daily wagers, barely earning enough to make ends meet, while others are orphans and persons with disabilities, often left out of society’s festivities.
But today, things are different. Today, the PRCS team is on a mission to bring a smile to the faces of these individuals by distributing Eid gifts in the form of cash amounts. As they hand over the gifts, they see the look of amazement and happiness on the faces of those receiving them. It is a small act of kindness, but it means the world to those who receive it.
Zulfiqar, a member of the PRCS team, recounts his encounters with the recipients of the Eid gifts. He shares how many of them were upset and felt left out during Eid celebrations due to their inability to earn and receive gifts. However, when the PRCS team gifted them cash and other essential items, they were filled with joy and gratitude. Zulfiqar expresses the team’s dedication to their community, saying that they strive to bring a smile to the faces of those who need it the most.
The scene is heartwarming, and it reminds us of the power of small acts of kindness. The PRCS team’s commitment to uplifting their community is commendable, and their efforts to spread joy and happiness during Eid are truly inspiring. As they make their way back to their office, they know that they have made a difference in the lives of those they have touched, and that is a feeling that cannot be expressed in words.
Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) is a statutory body constituted and governed by an “Act of Parliament”. It was founded in Pakistan on December 20, 1947 by an Order called “The Pakistan Red Cross Order” issued by Quaid-e-Azam, as Governor General of Pakistan and Founding President of the Society.
