PRCS and Peshawar Serena Hotel Strengthen Partnership Through MoU Discussions

An important meeting was recently held in connection with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Peshawar Serena Hotel, marking a significant step toward enhanced collaboration in humanitarian and community welfare initiatives.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imtiaz Ali, Director Sales & Marketing / Deputy General Manager, Peshawar Serena Hotel, and Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Chairman, Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Senior representatives from both organizations participated in constructive discussions aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation and exploring meaningful avenues for joint action.

Focus on Humanitarian Collaboration

During the meeting, both sides engaged in detailed deliberations on potential areas of partnership, with a strong emphasis on humanitarian initiatives, social responsibility, and community development. The proposed collaboration under the MoU framework aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to support vulnerable communities, promote humanitarian values, and contribute positively to social welfare across the region.

PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Holds Recognition and Lessons Learned Workshop to Honor Field Staff and Volunteers

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PRCS KP) organized a Recognition and Lessons Learned Workshop to acknowledge and appreciate the dedicated services of its field staff and volunteers from Charsadda, Nowshehra, and Swat. The workshop served as an important platform to reflect on programmatic achievements, share experiences, and recognize the tireless efforts of frontline responders who played a vital role in implementing humanitarian initiatives across the province.

The event was attended by Chairman PRCS KP, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, who commended the unwavering commitment of PRCS teams working in challenging environments to serve vulnerable communities. He emphasized that the strength of the Red Crescent movement lies in its field staff and volunteers, whose dedication ensures timely and effective humanitarian response.

Also present on the occasion were Mr. Asif Aman Khan, Head of Office, German Red Cross, Mr. Naeem Akhtar, Deputy Director PRCS Islamabad, Mr. Sher Ahmad Shad, Program Manager German Red Cross KP, Provincial Secretary PRCS KP Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Deputy Secretary Operations Mr. Muhammad Iqbal, along with other senior officials and program staff.

During the workshop, speakers highlighted the strong partnership between PRCS KP and the German Red Cross, acknowledging the crucial technical and financial support provided through various humanitarian and resilience-building initiatives. Detailed briefings were delivered on the progress and impact of German Red Cross–supported projects, including Anticipatory Action (AA), Forecast-based Financing (FbF), and Anticipatory Humanitarian Disaster Risk Reduction (AHDRR) initiatives. These programs were recognized for enhancing community preparedness, reducing disaster risks, and enabling early action to minimize the impacts of climate-induced hazards.

Participants shared lessons learned from field implementation, discussed operational challenges, and exchanged best practices to further strengthen future programming. The interactive discussions underscored the importance of coordination, community engagement, and timely decision-making in delivering effective humanitarian assistance.

The workshop concluded with a ceremony for the distribution of appreciation shields and certificates, honoring field staff and volunteers for their exceptional contributions and commitment. This gesture reaffirmed PRCS KP’s dedication to recognizing the efforts of its humanitarian workforce and fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence.

Through initiatives such as this workshop, PRCS KP continues to strengthen institutional learning, reinforce partnerships, and empower its teams to better serve communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
