“PRCS is Committed to Services for Vulnerable Persons” – Assistive Devices Distributed in Lower Dir
Reaffirming its commitment to serving vulnerable communities, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch, in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), distributed 10 wheelchairs and crutches among persons with disabilities in District Lower Dir on 16-02-2026.
The initiative reflects PRCS KP’s continued dedication to promoting dignity, accessibility, and inclusion for persons with disabilities across the province.
Ceremony Attended by District Administration
The distribution ceremony was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Mr. Wajid Ali Khan, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He appreciated the humanitarian efforts of PRCS and described the initiative as highly commendable.
Mr. Wajid Ali Khan expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for extending support to persons with disabilities and acknowledged the organization’s vital role in addressing the needs of vulnerable segments of society.
Promoting Dignity and Independence
The distribution of wheelchairs and crutches is aimed at improving mobility and enabling beneficiaries to participate more actively in daily life. Access to assistive devices significantly enhances independence, confidence, and quality of life for persons with disabilities.
PRCS KP emphasized that humanitarian service goes beyond emergency relief — it includes long-term support to ensure that marginalized individuals are empowered to live dignified lives.
Call for Expanded Support and Skill Development
During his address, the Chief Guest encouraged PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to further expand its support by equipping persons with disabilities with technical and vocational skills. He highlighted the importance of empowering beneficiaries to become self-reliant and economically independent.
He also emphasized that similar assistance should be extended to other deserving individuals across the district so that a greater number of persons with disabilities may benefit from such facilities.
