A formal handover ceremony was held where Saudi diplomats in Pakistan presented relief consignments to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The ceremony was graced by Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah as the chief guest. Representing the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Vice Chairman of PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also participated in the event.

PRCS Punjab Deploys Mobile Health Team to Support Flood-Affected Communities in Buner

In line with the directives of the Chairman, PRCS Punjab, a Mobile Health Team has been dispatched from Lahore to extend urgent medical support to flood-affected communities in District Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The team comprises two Medical Officers, one male Nurse, one Hygiene Promoter, and is equipped with an ambulance and essential medicines to ensure effective service delivery.

Upon arrival in Buner, the team has begun preparations to establish mobile medical camps on a rotational basis across all flood-affected Union Councils of the district. These camps will provide much-needed healthcare services, first aid, and hygiene awareness to families struggling with the aftermath of the disaster.

This joint effort by PRCS Punjab and PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reflects the strong spirit of unity within the Red Crescent Movement, ensuring that vulnerable communities receive timely medical relief and support during emergencies.

PRCS KP Conducts RFL Rapid Needs Assessment in Flood-Affected Areas of Buner

In continuation of its emergency response to the devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has deployed field teams to Buner District for rapid needs assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to identify the most urgent requirements of the affected communities, including food, shelter, safe drinking water, health services, and other humanitarian needs.

Alongside the assessment, a Restoring Family Links (RFL) Manager is part of the PRCS team to address one of the most sensitive challenges — cases of unidentified dead bodies. Through RFL services, PRCS is working closely with affected population & District Authorites to provide free phone call services and help reconnect families separated due to the disaster.

By combining technical assessments with humanitarian services like RFL, PRCS KP ensures that relief efforts are needs-based, people-centered, and compassionate, addressing both the physical and emotional impact of the floods.

PRCS KP to Install Water Filtration Plant in Flood-Affected Buner to Ensure Access to Clean Drinking Water Today

Access to safe drinking water is one of the most critical needs in the aftermath of floods, where contaminated water sources often lead to the outbreak of waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid. To address this urgent challenge, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a vital step for the people of Buner District.

Today, a water filtration plant, dispatched by PRCS National Headquarters, was received by PRCS field staff and is being installed in Beshonai village – one of the most severely affected areas. This advanced filtration unit is capable of producing up to 26,000 liters of clean drinking water daily, providing immediate relief to hundreds of families struggling with unsafe water sources.

By ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water, PRCS KP not only meets a life-saving need but also helps protect communities from potential health crises during the recovery phase.

PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Continues Immediate Flood Relief Operation Across Multiple Districts

In the wake of the devastating Monsoon Floods 2025, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa mobilized its teams from the very first day of the disaster to support affected communities.

Districts Covered in the Response

Relief operations have been carried out in Buner, Shangla, Swabi, Swat, and Mansehra, where families have been facing severe challenges due to damaged infrastructure, loss of homes, and limited access to food, shelter, and safe water.

Emergency Relief Provided

PRCS KP, with the support of partners and volunteers, delivered a wide range of life-saving assistance, including:

  • Cooked Food Parcels – over 4,500 meals provided to affected families.

  • Clean Drinking Water – more than 4,600 liters distributed.

  • Temporary Shelters45 family tents set up, benefiting over 315 people.

  • Non-Food Items (NFIs)75 packages distributed, supporting 525 beneficiaries.

  • Family Hygiene Kits – provided to 105 individuals to prevent disease outbreaks.

The total value of relief items and services provided so far amounts to approximately PKR 8.59 million, directly benefiting more than 10,000 individuals in the five districts.

This timely intervention highlights PRCS KP’s unwavering commitment to stand with vulnerable communities in times of crisis. The society continues to work closely with district authorities, partners, and volunteers to ensure that emergency relief and recovery support reaches those in urgent need.

With the generous contribution of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Sub Delegation, Peshawar, dry ration was purchased from CSD Peshawar to meet the urgent needs of flood-hit households.

The ration includes:

  • Daal Channa

  • Banaspati Ghee

  • Dry Milk

  • Lipton Black Tea
