The Youth and Volunteers Department of PRCS KP, with support from IFRC and the Italian Red Cross, carried out a nature conservation activity under the theme “Wings of Peshawar” at Wazir Bagh in Peshawar.
The activity responded to research showing a significant decline in house sparrow populations caused by habitat loss and rapid urbanization. Volunteers installed bird nest houses, water pots, and food feeders to support urban bird survival while also promoting environmental awareness.
The initiative linked humanitarian values with urban ecological responsibility and demonstrated how youth engagement can contribute to healthier, more resilient public spaces.
