Situation Update #4: Pakistan–Afghanistan Border Tension

Background

The humanitarian situation along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border remains tense due to ongoing security operations and cross-border hostilities. Military activities, including targeted operations and ground deployments, continue across affected areas to address security threats and stabilize the region. These measures aim to maintain control along the frontier while responding to persistent tensions.

The conflict has caused localized displacement, particularly in District Chitral Lower, where around 3,542 individuals (545 families) have moved to Drosh camp and host communities. The situation has increased the vulnerability of affected populations, highlighting the urgent need for coordinated humanitarian assistance, protection, and support for displaced communities. Immediate and sustained action is essential to safeguard the well-being of displaced families and mitigate the impact of the ongoing conflict.
