Youth Climathon – PRCSKP Provincial Level Climate Innovation Competition
Introduction: The Youth Climathon is a pioneering PRCSKP provincial-level competition aimed at addressing the pressing issue of climate change through innovative solutions. This event is designed to inspire, engage, and empower individuals to contribute creative ideas towards sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. The competition focuses on diverse categories, ranging from sustainable agriculture to eco-friendly transportation, encouraging participants to think critically and propose feasible solutions to climate challenges.
Objectives: The main objectives of the Youth Climathon are:
Promote Innovation: Encourage participants to think outside the box and develop novel solutions to combat climate change in various domains.
Raise Awareness: Increase awareness about the urgency of climate change and inspire a sense of responsibility among participants and the wider community.
Empower Action: Empower individuals with the knowledge that their ideas can drive positive change, fostering a sense of agency in addressing environmental challenges.
Foster Collaboration: Create a platform for collaboration among participants, experts, organizations, and communities to collectively work towards a more sustainable future.
Competition Categories: The competition revolves around the following categories:
1. Kitchen Gardens
2. Waste Management
3. Reforestation and the Preservation of Biodiversity
4. Promoting Renewable Energy and Enhancing Energy Efficiency
5. Fostering Sustainable Agriculture and Ensuring Food Security
6. Water Harvesting Rainwater
8. Raising Awareness to Combat Plastic Pollution
9. Sustainable Tourism and Eco-Friendly Transportation
Competition Phases:
Eligibility: Age 18-35 and Employees of PRCS is not eligible to apply.
Call for Entries: Participants are invited to submit short videos of up to three minutes, showcasing their innovative ideas in one of the specified categories.
Review and Evaluation: A panel of expert judges evaluates the submitted videos based on creativity, feasibility, impact, and alignment with the competition’s goals and will be upload to PRCSKP YouTube official Channel.
Winners: Two ideas will be selected through public voting, which will include YouTube-like comments and views. Additionally, three ideas will be chosen by a panel of judges.
Prizes: Winners of the Youth Climathon will receive cash rewards to implement their ideas, certificates of recognition, and opportunities to collaborate with environmental organizations and experts.
