Governor KP Appreciates Punjab Red Crescent for Timely Relief to Tirah Victims

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, met with Secretary General of Punjab Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Mehboob Qadir Shah, at Governor House Peshawar to discuss recent humanitarian assistance provided to the affected communities in Tirah. The meeting highlighted the collaborative efforts of provincial Red Crescent branches in delivering timely and effective relief to those in need.

Relief Support for IDP Families in Tirah

During the meeting, the Governor expressed gratitude to the Punjab Red Crescent Society for providing relief materials to victims of Tirah, noting that this support has been crucial in addressing the immediate needs of displaced families. It was shared that relief packages have been sent for 500 internally displaced families (IDPs) and have already been distributed to affected families in the merged districts, ensuring that the most vulnerable communities receive assistance promptly.

Commitment to Transparent and Timely Assistance

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized that the relief process would be carried out in a timely, transparent, and trustworthy manner, with his personal oversight to ensure that the support reaches the deserving families without delay.

Strengthening Humanitarian Collaboration

The meeting was also attended by Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, and Chairman of the Merged Districts Red Crescent, Advocate Imran Wazir, reflecting a joint commitment to humanitarian assistance and coordination between provincial and local Red Crescent branches. Both sides reaffirmed their determination to expand collaborative efforts to provide effective support during natural disasters, emergencies, and humanitarian crises.

This meeting underscores the importance of inter-provincial cooperation in humanitarian response, highlighting how coordinated action between Red Crescent branches ensures timely relief and support to affected communities, particularly in remote and vulnerable areas like Tirah.

German Red Cross Delegation Briefed on Ongoing Humanitarian Activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – October 2025:
A delegation from the German Red Cross (GRC) visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch and received a comprehensive briefing on the Society’s ongoing humanitarian and relief activities across the province. The discussions centered on aid distribution efforts, community outreach programs, and field operations designed to support flood-affected and vulnerable communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The session was chaired by Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, who provided an overview of the branch’s recent humanitarian interventions, disaster response operations, and the critical role played by PRCS volunteers in reaching communities in need.

Strengthening Humanitarian Cooperation

In his address, Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir expressed his appreciation for the continued partnership between the German Red Cross and PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing that this collaboration has greatly enhanced the branch’s ability to deliver timely and dignified assistance to disaster-affected families.

“The unwavering support of our partners, including the German Red Cross, has enabled PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to strengthen its humanitarian outreach and serve people in their moments of greatest need. Our volunteers remain the backbone of our mission—working day and night to support vulnerable communities with compassion and commitment,” he stated.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Cyriakus Brautigam (Head of Office, German Red Cross Pakistan), Mr. Asif Khan, Mr. Muhammad Qaswar Abbas (Programme Delegate), and Mr. Sher Ahmad Shad (Programme Manager), along with PRCS officials and field staff. The participants reviewed progress in ongoing relief operations and discussed ways to further enhance coordination in humanitarian action across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The delegation lauded PRCS KP’s efforts in disaster response, healthcare services, and community resilience programs, recognizing the dedication of its volunteers and staff who continue to serve in challenging environments. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to humanitarian values—ensuring that all assistance is provided with humanity, integrity, transparency, and resilience.

Concluding the session, both organizations agreed to continue their close collaboration in strengthening disaster preparedness, community resilience, and humanitarian response capacity in the province.
