PRCS KP to Install Water Filtration Plant in Flood-Affected Buner to Ensure Access to Clean Drinking Water Today
Access to safe drinking water is one of the most critical needs in the aftermath of floods, where contaminated water sources often lead to the outbreak of waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid. To address this urgent challenge, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a vital step for the people of Buner District.
Today, a water filtration plant, dispatched by PRCS National Headquarters, was received by PRCS field staff and is being installed in Beshonai village – one of the most severely affected areas. This advanced filtration unit is capable of producing up to 26,000 liters of clean drinking water daily, providing immediate relief to hundreds of families struggling with unsafe water sources.
By ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water, PRCS KP not only meets a life-saving need but also helps protect communities from potential health crises during the recovery phase.
This initiative reflects PRCS KP’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the health and dignity of flood-affected families and reinforces the importance of sustainable, community-centered humanitarian solutions in times of disaster.
Together, we can restore hope and resilience in flood-hit communities.
