PRCS KP Volunteers Participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar at Governor House

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch actively participated in a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar held at the Governor House, Peshawar, as part of ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and community engagement across the province.

The event was graced by the presence of the Honorable Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, and Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, alongside PRCS officials, staff, and volunteers.

Promoting Health Awareness and Volunteerism

A total of 22 female and 12 male volunteers from PRCS KP took part in the seminar, reflecting the organization’s inclusive approach and its dedication to mobilizing youth and community members toward meaningful causes. The event emphasized the importance of early detection, education, and open discussion about breast cancer — a disease that continues to affect countless lives across Pakistan.

Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir highlighted PRCS’s dedication to public health initiatives, stating that awareness and education are vital tools in saving lives.

“Through such initiatives, PRCS continues to empower communities with knowledge and compassion. Our volunteers are at the forefront of promoting health awareness and supporting preventive healthcare efforts,” he said.

German Red Cross Delegation Briefed on Ongoing Humanitarian Activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – October 2025:
A delegation from the German Red Cross (GRC) visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch and received a comprehensive briefing on the Society’s ongoing humanitarian and relief activities across the province. The discussions centered on aid distribution efforts, community outreach programs, and field operations designed to support flood-affected and vulnerable communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The session was chaired by Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, who provided an overview of the branch’s recent humanitarian interventions, disaster response operations, and the critical role played by PRCS volunteers in reaching communities in need.

Strengthening Humanitarian Cooperation

In his address, Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir expressed his appreciation for the continued partnership between the German Red Cross and PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing that this collaboration has greatly enhanced the branch’s ability to deliver timely and dignified assistance to disaster-affected families.

The participants reviewed progress in ongoing relief operations and discussed ways to further enhance coordination in humanitarian action across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, visited the Mobile Health Unit (MHU) and Medical Camp established in the flood-affected areas of District Buner. The visit aimed to assess healthcare delivery, review medical facilities, and ensure that flood-affected communities continue to receive timely and quality medical services.

Providing Healthcare to the Most Vulnerable

During the visit, Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir personally reviewed the availability of medicines, functioning of medical facilities, and performance of the field staff working tirelessly in challenging conditions. He interacted with the healthcare workers and local residents to better understand their needs and the impact of the services being provided.

The Mobile Health Unit and Medical Camp in Buner provide essential healthcare services such as general consultations, maternal and child health, disease prevention, and first aid, supported by qualified medical staff and dedicated volunteers. These mobile facilities have become lifelines for many families who lost access to healthcare due to flood damages.
