An important and meaningful meeting was held between Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent, Mr. Abidur Rehman Marwat, Provincial Secretary Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at the Governor House, Peshawar. The meeting took place in a pleasant, serious, and positive atmosphere, focusing on key issues related to humanitarian assistance, social welfare, and disaster response across the province.

Briefing on PRCS KP Welfare and Emergency Services

During the meeting, Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir apprised the Governor of the wide range of humanitarian services being delivered by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the organization’s welfare projects, emergency response services, first aid training programs, disaster management initiatives, and voluntary services.

The Chairman emphasized that PRCS is committed to serving humanity without discrimination, stating that providing immediate, timely, and effective assistance during natural and man-made disasters remains the organization’s top priority. He reaffirmed PRCS KP’s dedication to reaching vulnerable and underserved communities across the province.

Provincial Secretary’s Briefing on Performance and Future Strategy

Provincial Secretary Mr. Abidur Rehman Marwat provided a detailed briefing on the overall performance, administrative discipline, transparency mechanisms, current challenges, and future goals of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent Society. He stressed the need to further expand relief activities, ensure timely assistance to remote and backward areas, and enhance the capacity and training of volunteers in line with modern humanitarian requirements.

He also underscored the importance of establishing an effective and responsive emergency mechanism, promoting self-reliance, and strengthening linkages and partnerships with local and international donors as integral components of the organization’s future strategy.

Governor’s Appreciation and Assurance of Support

Governor Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the welfare and humanitarian services rendered by PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing the Red Crescent as a credible, well-organized, and active humanitarian institution. He acknowledged the organization’s consistent role in serving people not only during natural disasters and emergencies but also through ongoing welfare activities during normal circumstances.

The Governor especially commended the timely and effective response of PRCS KP during floods and other disasters and assured his full cooperation, along with support for strengthening institutional linkages and initiating joint humanitarian and social development initiatives in the future.

Way Forward Through Joint Efforts

At the conclusion of the meeting, all participants reiterated their shared commitment to making humanitarian welfare, relief services, and social development initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa more effective and far-reaching. It was agreed that through mutual consultation, collaboration, and joint efforts, assistance and essential services can be extended to the maximum number of deserving people across the province.
