Lahore: Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi Praises Red Crescent Services, Lays Foundation Stone for Hospital Expansion
Lahore – Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has lauded the humanitarian services of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, stating that its role during natural disasters and emergencies is highly commendable. He remarked that the organization has consistently set an example of serving humanity by extending timely support to affected communities in difficult situations.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the Pak Red Crescent Medical and Dental College during his visit to Lahore.
Foundation Stone of New 250-Bed Block
On the occasion, the Governor laid the foundation stone of a new 250-bed block at the Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital, marking a significant step toward expanding healthcare facilities. He also visited patients admitted to the hospital, inquiring about their well-being and appreciating the dedication of the medical staff.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi announced that there are plans to further upgrade the hospital into a modern medical center with a capacity of 500 beds in the future. He emphasized that strengthening healthcare infrastructure is essential to meet the growing needs of the population and to ensure quality medical services for all.
Presence of Red Crescent Leadership
The ceremony was attended by Farzand Ali Wazir, Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent, and Provincial Secretary Abid-ur-Rehman Marwat, along with other distinguished guests. The Governor appreciated the services of the Punjab Red Crescent and stressed the importance of enhanced mutual cooperation between provincial branches to further strengthen humanitarian outreach and healthcare initiatives.
Ramadan Packages for Deserving Families
In the spirit of Ramadan, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi distributed Ramadan relief packages among deserving families, reaffirming the commitment of the Red Crescent to support vulnerable communities during the holy month. He noted that such initiatives embody the true spirit of compassion, solidarity, and service to humanity.
Recognition and Prayers
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to doctors and students who demonstrated outstanding performance in their respective fields. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of the Islamabad tragedy, reflecting solidarity and remembrance.
