Lahore: Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi Commends Pakistan Red Crescent Services and Announces Major Hospital Expansion
Lahore – Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has praised the outstanding humanitarian services of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, stating that its role in responding to natural disasters and emergencies is truly commendable. He noted that the Pakistan Red Crescent has consistently set a benchmark in serving humanity by extending timely assistance to affected communities during challenging times.
The Governor expressed these views while addressing a ceremony at the Pak Red Crescent Medical and Dental College during his official visit to Lahore.
Foundation Stone of 250-Bed New Block
During the ceremony, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi laid the foundation stone of a new 250-bed block at the Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of healthcare services. The initiative aims to enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality medical care to a larger number of patients.
The Governor also visited the patients admitted to the hospital, inquiring about their health and appreciating the dedication of doctors, nurses, and medical staff who continue to serve with professionalism and compassion.
Vision for a 500-Bed Modern Medical Center
In a forward-looking announcement, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi shared plans to upgrade the teaching hospital into a modern 500-bed medical center in the future. He emphasized that strengthening healthcare infrastructure is essential to meet the growing needs of the population and to ensure accessible and high-standard medical facilities.
The ceremony was attended by Farzand Ali Wazir, Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent, and Provincial Secretary Abid-ur-Rehman Marwat. The Governor appreciated the services of the Punjab Red Crescent and stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation between provincial branches to further strengthen humanitarian and healthcare initiatives.
Ramadan Relief and Recognition of Excellence
In the spirit of Ramadan, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi distributed Ramadan relief packages among deserving families, reinforcing the Red Crescent’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during the holy month. He highlighted that such welfare initiatives reflect the true values of compassion and solidarity.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to doctors and students who demonstrated exceptional performance in their respective fields. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of the Islamabad tragedy, expressing unity and remembrance.
