Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Shangla Branch – Winterization Support Distribution Among Flash Flood Affectees
The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Shangla Branch has successfully distributed 125 complete winterization packages among the flood-affected households of Tehsil Puran, District Shangla. This initiative was part of PRCS’s continued humanitarian efforts to provide critical relief and seasonal support to vulnerable families who lost shelter and essential belongings due to the devastating floods.
Each winterization package comprised essential items such as warm clothing, blankets, quilts, bedding materials, and other supplies specifically designed to help families withstand the harsh winter conditions of the mountainous Shangla region. The provision of these packages aimed to reduce the risks of cold-related illnesses, especially among children, women, and elderly persons, while restoring a sense of dignity and safety for the affected households.
The distribution was carried out in close coordination with the local administration, community elders, and PRCS volunteers, ensuring transparency and accountability in the process. Special attention was given to the most vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities, in line with PRCS’s humanitarian mandate of impartiality and neutrality.
This intervention highlights PRCS Shangla Branch’s unwavering commitment to serving disaster-affected communities. Beyond immediate relief, such targeted support plays a vital role in building resilience and helping families recover from the dual burden of flood devastation and severe winter hardships.
